Food brings people together worldwide. When you enjoy a meal together, the encounter happens naturally. Even if you don't speak each other's language or come from different 'worlds.' You see the other, and you are seen: lovingly and equally."
In an ideal society, everyone participates. In reality, that isn't achievable for everyone. The Participation Kitchen aims to make everyone feel welcome and included. With our Join-In Tables, community rooms, neighborhood centers, or living rooms are transformed into gathering places where everyone is welcome. Check here to see where you can join in your neighborhood.
In the encounter lies tremendous power: by eating, talking, and working together, people from all walks of life come together. The goal: 10,000 to 15,000 encounters per week. We organize encounters that leave you wanting more and create a movement in society.
The founder of the Participation Kitchen is Ben Lachhab. As the child of a Moroccan guest worker, he had a dream: to form a community where people help and empower each other. Together with his family, he is dedicated to creating connections. All aimed at building a closer society with a loving sense of family.
